I am an L2 visa holder presently in US, can I apply the EAD once I go back to India and came back to US once they sent the appointment for Biomatric? Do I need to be there in US before applying EAD. Can L1 visa holder can follow my EAD?

Total EAD cycle period is 3 months.You need not to be in USA before applying for EAD, but once you have applied for it with in a week or more you would get a biometrics appointment.You should definitely be present for this and give your finger prints.After biometrics you may travel back and return when your EAD is ready you can check the status of your EAD online also..

You do need the L-2 I-94, so you must be physically present at the time you file.
