    Do cockatils eat eggs?
Will a cockatil eat my budgies eggs, if they are both breeding pairs? The cockatils have one egg and the budgies had four and now they are all gone shell as well!

When I had 6 cockatiels (3 breeding couples) I would feed them hard boiled chicken eggs daily so that the females were able to lay healthy eggs that would hatch. I was a cockatiel breeder for many years. You should not have both species in the same cage otherwise the larger cockatiels will definitely eat the smaller bird's eggs for the nutrients contained in the egg shells and egg whites.

Give the budgies hard boiled chicken eggs as well for better breeding results.

When you give the birds the hard boiled eggs just halve the egg and leave the shell on for the extra nutrients. You will definitely see the difference in the next clutch of eggs that they lay.

Are you telling me that you're housing budgies and cockatiels together?

Do you know anything about birds?

I wouldn't worry so much about the cockatiel eating the budgies eggs, I'd worry more about the cockatiel eating the budgie!

Cockatiels do not like any other breed of bird other then a cockatiel. They will not adjust to living with a budgie. They're bigger, so sooner or later, when a fight happens (which it will) your budgie will either be badly hurt or die.

    Separate them!
