My husband owned his buisnesses before we were married am I entittled to part of this
My husdband owned both of his buisnesses before we were married so do I have any invested interest in them after just one year of marriage? Also we both own a home together, I am on the deed of trust, will he have to buy me out of the home to be able to keep it as sole ownership?

Ask a lawyer, but it's unlikely if they are solely in his name and you haven't put any of your own money into them.

Why do you feel you have some right to his businesses after a year of marriage?

If you are on the deed to the house then you have an interest, by definition.

Why do you want to know? Do you make a habit of marrying and divorcing men just to get their money?

Please pay more attention to posting guidelines. There is a Read First sticky in the Marriage forum (where this was moved from) that directs questions of a legal nature to this forum.

Also, please do not start new threads for the same issue. I've merged your threads for you.

May be helpful to you. Scroll down to the sections on spousal support and division of property.

Given the non specific nature of Washington State law, I would strongly recommend consulting an attorney if you feel you need to get a divorce.

The general rule of thumb is for a marriage of short duration it would only be for 1/2 the length of the marriage. In this case maybe 6 months. But really after only 1 years time its not likely your going to get any.
