    Micarriage after hearing heartbeat.
Hey.. I was just wondering if its true that the risk of miscarriage goes down a lot after the heartbeat is heard. I have read where a lot of people say that so I was just wondering. I am 11wk 3day. I heard the heart beat at 9wks and it was 178 and they said that was great. I am just very paranoid after the last miscarriage. I go back to the doctor on the 27th and Ill be 13 weeks. I am hoping they will have good news. Also when do they start listening to the baby on the Doppler at dc. visit. I didn't have a normal pregnancy with my daughter 4 yrs ago, I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 6 mons, so I don't know how everything works and goes this early in pregnancy. Thanks guys.

I can not honestly answer that question , although a friend of mind had very normal scan at 12 weeks to find out at her 20 week scan that there was no heartbeat.

I do not intend to frighten you but getting your hopes up is not the right thing for me to do.

I too have suffered from a misscarriage , but I went onto have 5 beautiful healthy babies after that , so please try to stop worrying so much and enjoy the feelings of being pregnant and try to stay fit and healthy to give your baby a great start in life - god bless and good luck x

That is a myth. There is no way to tell when or why a miscarriage occurs. Many are before the 12th week, but I have delivered fetal demises as far as 32 weeks gestation.
