It's my understanding you need an insurable interest in a person in order to get life insurance on that person's life - such as child support or spousal support. Is that the case?
This policy was written without medical info from the insured, including any type of exam/testing?
Yes. Also, insured did not know ex got the insurance. All children are adults. Spousal support ends after the death of the insured.
I don't believe it is illegal, but most insurers will not underwrite a policy with the insured's knowledge.
Who are you in this situation? The insured needs to talk to the insurer about this. But, unless the ex plans on offing the insured to collect on the policy, probably not an issue.
The insurane policy would not be valid, if they got it without the knowledge of the insured ( unless there is a court order from divorce that there be a policy)
If the insured notified the company, the policy would easily be voided
I am the current spouse. Ex wife obtained a policy without my husband's knowledge. She put our home address on the policy, policy came to our home with the ex as the owner and my husband as the insured. She is listed as his spouse
Ok, so what do you want to do about it?
I will do what ever will be legal to do. The ex has been very disrespectful to my husband
That doesn't answer my question. Do you want the policy canceled? Do you want to get her in trouble? What?
So you can't do anything, but your husband should contact the insurance company and tell them he did not buy or order or OK anay policy
That is exactly what he is going to do. Everyone, thanks for your help.
