I have squares where there should be symbols. The squares with letters and numbers inside... How do I get rid o these?

You probably don't have the correct font. So when the web requests symbol # 205 in font xax, it says no xax default to arial. However arial doesn't have a # 205 so they just show up as squares and such. Or if it does have a # 205 it may be a different character. Find out what font the page needs and install it.

While it could very well be a font, this issue sometimes occurs with a foreign language as well.
