What are you planning on doing after the house is auctioned off?

It sounds like he's just trying to get more money out of you while he can. As far as I know, it takes more than 3 days to get an eviction notice from the courts.

When is your rent due? When did you last pay it?

A foreclosure can be forestalled, right up to the moment it goes on the block. So he could forestall it and still be your landlord.
