In this TV series billy the kid and older outlaws ride on their horses through a time vortex and end up in the 1980's (when this series came out). It was a short-lived series and I liked it. I do not recall much about it- but I think they stay at a woman's house and do good things for other people

Could it be Voyagers? There was an episode that involved Billy the Kid.
