    How can my wife apply for Social security no.--SSN as she will be here in F2 visa and I AM IN F1 with already having SSN

    As for F-1, you can obtain SSN only when you work on campus 20 hours/week max... not for any employers.

    F-2 holders are not authorized to work. If he/she needs to pay taxes, apply or ITIN.

    If I may correct your info, re: F1... only when you work on campus 20 hours/week max... Not for any employers.

    After the course of study of an f1. The student may apply for OPT. The student is required to submit a contract from your EMPLOYER. And you can work full time.
