Why does my dog bunch up my rug in a ball by the door when we go to bed and also when we leave the house?

Could you give a little more info please?

What door are you talking about, the front door?
He is probably just waiting for you to come home or get out of bed.

Does he cry or just ball up and go to sleep?

Most of the dogs I've known rearrange their den every time they lay down. I punch up my pillow, too. Same thing.

LOL shaz, I think they meant the mat. Lol
Ya he is probably making his bed out of the mat. My dog had 3 doggy beds, but she still uses an old ratty mat I have at the end of my bed. She always crumples it up and makes a little pillow for her self. She does it if there is a towel or blanket or even clothes left on the floor.

I could come on early morning instead, but I would be even more scatter-brained then.

Warning - off topic - go to my room

    You're so cute when you're scatter-brained.
