Can a landlord purchase liability insurance to cover his tenants that don't have renters insurance and just add it to their rent in Las Vegas, NV?

    Hello Landlord:

If they agree. Otherwise, WHY would you want to protect THEM? As long as you have homeowners insurance YOU'RE covered.

Actually no, to purchase insurance you have to have a "interest"

He will buy and should have liablity insurance for the property, so if anyone gets hurt ( not tennant) then it will protect him from being sued.

He should have property insurance, to cover the building and any content items he owns in the rental.

The actual liablity to protect the tenant is the renters liability, he can require they have cover and be added as a payee on the policy so he knows if it gets cancelled. Then if they stop having insurance he can evict them.

But why would he care if the tennants get sued?
