Should I get paid if I clock in early
Our employee manual states that we are to clock in no earlier than 8:30am. Annually, we are asked to sign a disclaimer that we have read and understood this policy. For 2 years, we have all been clocking in around 8:ooam to have enough time to get our work done. For 2 years we have been paid for clocking in at 8:ooam. Nobody has said anything to us about this. Now, all of a sudden, our clock in times are being altered on the clock in report to reflect 8:30am instead of when we really clocked in. Is it legal and OK for our employer to do this without warning?

If you are clocking in early instead of say 8:30AM, then your company has every right to curtail this practice without any prior notification. Why should they notify you? They don't have to. The company is apparently tired of paying people for extra time when they have already set the working hours for the employees.

If you are supposed to clock in at 8:30AM then do so or you could possibly be terminated for not following their rules.
