Will social security payments be stopped on 17yr old after she has baby of her own.
I have 16yr daughter that is getting disability payments from her Dad social security. He has the disability and she gets the check each month. Now she is pregnant, so will the checks stop when the baby is born or will they continue until she is 18. I am trying to keep her boyfriend away from her but they are now going to run away and get married. We live in the state of SC. If she does get married what happens to the payment then, will it stop.

SHE should not be getting the check, you should... in her name to take care of her. This money should NOT be given to her, but used for her care.

Now, just because she is pregnant does not mean that this check will stop. She is still considered a minor in this aspect.

She is an emancipated adult only when it comes to decisions regarding the health of her, only in the pregnancy sense, and the decisions she needs to make regarding the pregnancy only.

I do get the check and use it for care for her. Just wanted to make sure that it would not stop if she is reported as pregnant. Another threat from the boyfriend. I am going to get a good cheap lawyer. This 20yr old is causing me so much trouble withmy daughter. I just want him to leave her alone.

I hope someone is planning on going after the boyfriend for some child support. He's 20 and she's 16? Just curious about the legal particulars of those ages in SC. If nothing else, he's a jerk, especially if she's disabled. (Sorry, some commentary there. :-))

I personly think that is bull because if someone want to get married it shouldn't stop because your parent left it for you regardless what if the spouse can't take care of you both and your both in school but are in love...
