    What are you shooting with?

Could it be dots/particles on your lens?

Are you using a heavy editing program in CS4? I have found with programs (like Adobe Lightroom) that the heavier the effect, the more "spotty" the pictures come out to be.

DSLR or just a digital camera?

Are they large spots? If so, use the bandaid/spot healing tool or clone stamp.

If they are minuscule "sandy" spots all over the picture, try messing with filters. Also, you can look under the saturation settings... I think. I tend to mess around with settings to find the best fix to each individual problem with photos.

I am semi-proficient in CS3... and shoot weddings/engagements on the beach - sand gets on my lens quite a bit. I've found that the spot healer and clone stamp work excellent for removing spots.

Sorry I can't help you more! Maybe a Photoshop expert will come along and offer better advice. For now, I'd start with the clone stamp/spot healer.

It may be small particles of dust on the mirror in your camera. Do the following test: Focus on piece of clean, white paper so it covers entire image. Take a picture. Download it to Photoshop and see if those spots show up again. If yes, then have your mirror (in your camera) cleaned.

Makrcub_993: I don't think the download you are suggesting is for free. I have never seen Photoshop for free in my life - and probably will never see. Genuine Photoshop is a legitimate software that everyone has to purchase - may it be new version or upgrade. Thank you. Milo

If you can post an image with spots it may help. Perhaps it is gain (ISO) related too...

    Hi,
Can I send through an attachment to you. I was needing to please get some help with a particular pixelated effect, which was created in photoshop cs4??
It has pixelated edges that gradually fade into the background evenly??

    Thanks Bettina
