    Kitchen Sprayer Pressure
    Hi,
So I just moved into this apartment, and Im having problems with my kitchen sprayer.

At my new apartment when I turn on the faucet, I have pretty good pressure, probably 75% compared to what I would like it to be, but that's okay, but the sprayer has very little pressure. Also, when I turn on the sprayer, the water from the faucet continues, which I wish it wouldn't.

At my old apartment, the sink had great pressure and when you turned on the kitchen sprayer the water out of the faucet shut off completely and all of the pressure/water went through the sprayer. It was great.

So how can I get my new apartment sprayer to work like my old one? I think it has to do with the diverter but Im not sure, or even how to get to that.

My faucet/sprayer combination is made by Delta.

    Thanks!

First, remove the diverter by unscrewing it from the hose. The nut should stay on the hose. Clean the diverter screens to remove any debris. Reassemble. If that doesn't help, you can pick up a replacment diverter at Home Depot for very low $$.

Do I get to the diverter from under the sink to get to the diverter? Or do I need to take off the faucet at the top?

You'd remove the sprayer. It should unscrew at the base of the pistol.

Well I took off the sprayer head, and all I see is a white thing. It won't come off either... see picture

    Thanks :)

    Hi Michael,

Unfortunately vpauti has confused a sprayer head with a diverter. Replace the sprayer head and check and clean the diverter,(see image). Your faucet should break down like the one I've pictured.
Shut the water off under the cabinet. Remove the handle and the #3 cap assembly STOP! Don't remove any more. Pull straight up on the spout #4 and see the diverter #10 in the front of the valve body. Clean everything inside and out. Make sure the "O" ring on the diverter. If you have any doubts take the diverter in to a Delta dealer and replace it. Good luck, Tom

    Awesome! Thanks a lot...
I haven't done it yet, because I currently don't have a wrench big enough to get around the adjusting ring and cap assembly, but I will soon and then I can finally take care of this.

Thanks again, you have been a great help :)

Okay, I finally got the diverter replaced, and the sprayer works great. However, when I pulled up on the spout, the ball flew out, and cracked. So I went and got a new one (#70), put that back in. But, the water (only cold) runs at a trickle now and won't stop. Could it be that the seat and springs aren't making a tight seal? Should I replace those now?
    Thanks!

Yes! Replace the seats and springs. This time turn the water back on to flush out the supplies before you reassemble.. Good luck, Tom
