    In Mississippi, how long does the grand jury have to indict a person for statutory rape? The person was retained in jail three days.

    Has the person actually been charged with statutory rape or was s/he simply detained? How old are they and how old was the victim?

    Until the grand jury ends its current term. Grand jurors generally serve one to three days per month for 12 months. Grand jury terms may be extended if necessary.
