I have a gas fireplace that you turn on by a wall switch. Was working fine for months but then today turned it on and it made a loud "poof" sound and the flames were really really big and way too high compared to normal. I just turned it off. Any ideas what I should check? Or was that just its way of blowing off some built up dust or sand or carbon or whatever? What could be wrong?
