Loud Cracking sounds in floor of House
We built our home in 2003. It is a crawl space one-story home. Within the first year, the house started making random LOUD booming sounds in floor in dining room- really with weather change/morning sun, etc. The LOUD booming sounds have now spread throughout the home (6 yrs. Later) and occur more often, but still with weather change, etc. We don't see cracks in block or structural changes. These are NOT little popping sounds- they will wake you out of a dead sleep. Is our house going to collapse?

Forgot to add that when this boom/cracking sound occurs, you can feel the floor under your feet move if in that location when it happens.

    Hi, goose53!

Since this is a continuation of another thread that you started, you could edit your original question there to include this one.

This place doesn't work the same way that a chat site does. Starting new threads about the same thing only causes confusion here.

If I could merge your threads, I would do so. However, this isn't one of the forum topic areas that I moderate.

    Thanks!

We will get your posts merged so it will look like one conversation. Floor moving like that says structural expansion and shrinking due to temps. Whjat is your home made of?
