The Coleman/Evcon electric heat system in my 1993 model mobile home has become less efficient. I have always kept the thermostat set at 70 on the coldest days, 68 or 65 has kept it comfortable in previous years. (I live in southeast Texas, so winters here are mild and very few really cold days.) This winter, however I find that the air blowing from the strongest vent in the house, which in the past has felt like oven heat blowing out, is only mildly warm. The heat runs constantly and the house is always chilly. Any tips on where to begin to troubleshoot? Or should I just replace the unit.
