My question is, why do you immediately think you have to leave him?

Have you talked to him? He may feel excluded or unloved after the birth of your daughter, and his meanness may be a reaction to that.

Yes, if you do not want to work on your relationship and just want to leave then do so.

Have you talked to you husband about how you feel? What has he said?
