    Hi I have a noisy hot gas bypass solenoid valve it rattles when it pulls in.should I change the head or the valve Thanks

    I once bought like 20 air actuated 2-way valves. Some buzzed like crazy, some didn't. Had to take all of them apart and clean the actuator shaft. This is the shaft that sits in the coil. It was dirty with micoscopic dust.

    If you can take it apart, clean the parts that go in the coil.

    It would be best if you checked the voltage being fed to the coil on the valve. Many times the signal voltage to the coil is low and that will cause a rattle. In some cases you can actually see the gauges fluctuate. It does not take much voltage drop to cause this.
