I got up this morning and my bathroom sink was blocked, looked like I had had a slight dripping tap as there was a bit of water in the sink. Could this be a frozen pipe due to the dripping and the temps dropping to -8

Is this drain on a outside wall? About the only way you're going to find out would be to remove the "J" bend from the trap and snake the drain line, (see image) The good news id that you won't have to run out over 6 feet of snake. Reassemble the trap and flush the line with a bowl full of hot water. Good luck, Tom
You really don't need a image to snake a lavatory drain. I don't know why you can't see mine. It's on my post. Tom
If you had standing water in the sink wither the trap is clogged or frozen. Please give more details. Pouring a pot of boiling water into the sink will do no harm and may open the drain, frozed or clogged
Thanks but as the sink is full to the plug hole will putting hot water get through?
Your sink has an over flow hole, right, pour away
