    Ssi and child support
I rarely join these types of forums, but did so because of the ignorant who posted the response that it is better to get on TANIF instead of seeking out SSI or SSD for their children, when the children are eligible. To the quaint and ignorant person who chose to judge and criticize parents who are single (usually they are women), you should shut up and judge yourself if you feel like judging someone. Perhaps, you are a parent that is dodging you financial responsibility to you kids, that is why you criticize when someone is seeking FINANCIAL justice for their kids. Yes, I said it: FINANCIAL. There is nothing wrong with seeking financial justice for children, as it is unfair to kids for one parent to break their back meeting ALL or MOST of the responsibilities. I am not a druggie as our esteem jerk of a commenter seem to suggest in stating that usually druggies only peruse FINANCIAL justice. I am a highly educated single parent who is months from completing my Master's Degree, and I don't indulge in drugs or illegal activities. Perhaps the individual I am responding to is a pothead who should put the bong down and leave social issues to those who are educated in the area by either education or innate knowldege of the understanding that parent abandonment and dead beat parents are a social issue that involves making all parents responsible... especially if the parent is attempting to elude their responsibilities.

To all of the parents who are seeking social and economic justice for yourselves -KEEP GOING and pass the words of encouragement to others to continue to fight for what is right and now pay attention to asses like that one - who doesn't even have the sense or etiquette to capitilize the letter "I" when referring to him or herself!

I have absolutely no idea what you're responding to.

I agree that BOTH parents should be financially responsible for their children.

I ALSO think that if you have children already, and get pregnant on public assistance, that you should be looking at adoption programs, not more welfare programs.

I ALSO think that men should have more of a say in whether it is adoption, raising the child, or abortion. A girlfriend with low-self-esteem that tries to trap him with a kid because she doesn't want to lose him shouldn't have ALL of the choices

Nope... I'm not sure how to accomplish that yet. My personal thought is to put anyone not married (or civil unionized) on mandatory birth control, administered by the state. I guarantee you we the taxpayers could afford to pay for birth control for EVERYONE if we weren't so busy taking care of the kids that people keep that they can't afford.

So you think that people should fight for the rights of kids to have money from both parents? Great! I'm going to continue to fight for kids to have the right to be raised by parents that were financially stable BEFORE they got pregnant.

Lets hope the OP comes back to explain what's going on. It doesn't seem like anything more then a rant from somewhere.
