    School Uniform Debate
    Hey People,
I was just wondering your opinion of whether school uniforms school should be compulsory? I’m doing it for a debate for school and I’m on the affirmative side. What do you think about this subject? :)

    Thanks!

Yes- I am for it. It is a step towards cutting down the "socioeconomic" barrier present in schools. I say it is "a step towards" because we all know it doesn't eliminate the barrier completely. Wearing uniforms does eliminate distractions such as the jeans hanging off people's butts and the street-walker clothes some girls wear. It protects children from certain victimization- no one covets your tan slacks because they have six pairs of the same at home. You can't get beat up for dressing just like everyone else. I also think it fosters team spirit. If everyone wears the same thing, they can feel more like they belong together. I wish I had school uniforms when I was growing up because those mean girls would make fun of my K-Mart clothes.
