    Privacy violation laws homeowners associations
Can a homeowners association in a housing community mention peoples names out loud in a meeting, if they are minimally late with dues? Is this not a violation of privacy? Thanks

    Hello frank:

It IS a violation of your privacy. It's rude, and gossipy.. But, it's not against the law.

Agree, its not illegal. My HOA also publishes the names of people who have gotten tickets for violating our rules and regs and not paid the fine. This is not like HIPAA, you have not been defamed unless their info is knowingly inaccurate.
