Generally SSN and disability payments are exempt from garnishment.

If he is in arrears in child support payments, then the state can garnish any form of income, including but not limited to wages, social security, disability, tax refunds, gambling winnings, etc.

Even SSDI is not exempt from child support garnishments. I have seen many examples of it being done over the years. You should contact your local or state agency that should assist you with getting child support.

I have a good friend who is on SSDI and child support comes right out of it. Good luck!
