I own a home in NYS. Can the state put a lien on my home for child support arrears owed by my spouse fot another marriage?
So long as it is your separate property they can not. Being the step parent doesn't automatically make it so you have to pay your pouses child support. Only if you had adopted and then were court ordered to pay can they put a lien on your belongings.
