    Liability of apt if window was broken and burglar came in through brkn wnd
    Had a broken window asked maint many times to fix,alwys had excuse too cold,bzy,etc
    Burglars came in through brkn wind &stole TV,etc. Is apt liable

    Yes, they are liable. Can you PROVE that you asked many times? If not, even though they're liable, you can't prove it, so they'll win.

    Glass was broken since oct 2009 I asked several times maint kept saying too bzy ,too cold,always excuses,they do have workorder

    If you have a workorder that shows the request was made and not finished within a reasonable time, then you have a case against them.

    First, please do not keep starting new threads with the same question. Use the Reply options for follow-up. Also. In the future please use care in selecting an appropriate forum.

    When you talk to the mgr, explain to them, that by not fixing the window promptly then made your apt vulnerable to a burglary. They should have insurance to cover a claim. Tell them you are prepared to go to small claims court to get reimbursement for you loss.

    By the way, do you have renter's insurance?
