I am a very talented singer, but my parents don't want me to be famous. I think I could become wildly popular, but they think that I will get involved in bad things. Can you help me? I am only 11, and I have a better voice than most Disney Channel stars.

It takes a lot of work and money for someone to become widely popular or famous. A lot of kids at your age dream of being a Disney Channel star, or the next big celebrity, but in all reality, it is extremely difficult. You are only 11 years old. Unless you are looking at going to Hollywood to score a record deal, and finding someone to produce, write, and sell your music, there's a good chance you won't become famous for many, many years. Have you done anything like sing alone in front of an audience? Have you taken vocal lessons?
If you want to become famous, you will have to give yourself exposure (that means having performances, making demos and handing them out, getting you name out there.)


It is true that a lot of celebrities go in the wrong direction. There are VERY FEW young famous singers who have not fallen into "bad stuff", or who have not, at least, posted inappropriate pictures of themselves online. The only younger female famous singer I can think of right now that is not into what your parents would call "bad stuff" is Taylor Swift- and she isn't that young. Your parents are right. But as I said, I think that it is unlikely that you will become famous.

At 11 your voice hasn't finished changing. Even girls' voices change during puberty. You may have an amazing voice for your age, but until your voice fully matures, you won't be taken seriously as a singer.

Wait a few years. Enjoy your childhood. Keep singing. When you're older you can decide if it's still something you want to pursue seriously.

In the mean time, take voice lessons or join a choir and keep developing your voice. Think about possibly learning how to read and write music and lyrics. If you do decide to become a singer, you'll need songs to sing.

Maybe you and some friends could start a garage band. Perform at your church, if you have one, and local events.

Well if your better then most disney stars then you have a lot of talent! Wow. I'm 12, and my friends tell me I have a good voice.

But anywas, if you think you are good enough you should give it a shot. Audition for the school play or the talent show. Post videos of you singing on YouTube. That's how justin bieber got discovered! (sry if you don't like him but I do! Haha :P ) so if you think you could become famous, you should go for it. I know 1 person wo would buy your songs on itunes :D (its me... in case you were wondering xD )

Don't post videos, or pictures, of yourself anywhere online without your parents' permission and/or knowledge.

If you're that good of singer, someone will notice. Just keep singing!

If you really think you are that talented and your parents won't let you sing, start performing on a street,in church,at a school talent show,or maybe sing the national anthem on labor day.See what other people think and decide what you want to do but you are only 11 and your voice haven't changed so maybe you can wait and have fun and don't let your dreams down and keep singing for a few more years and then decide if you still think you are talented and then go o for it. Your parents make a point about being bad but prove to them that you are responsible and won't do bad things. Put yourself on YouTube singing and find out what other people think and that is how justin bieber was discovered. If your parents say yes type up I want to be famous and click the top one and fill out all the info.
