I can light the pilot, turn heat on,it runs, but goes out when door is put on

I can light the pilot, it stays lit, I turn the t-stat to heat and it will fire up. It takes a while but fan will come on and start to heat the house. Once I put the door back on or turn the t-stat down, the pilot goes back out. What could this be?
