I have a hard painful lump on the tip of my right index finger, slightly offset.
This is a hard lump, which shows white when I squeeze my fingertip. It is extremely painful and seems to be getting bigger. If I look through a magnifying glass, it looks as if there are two tiny 'pits', about 2mm apart, on the lump. My doctor said that it was a cyst but I don't feel that it is. At first I thought that it might be something that has lodged in my finger, - I suppose that it could well be, but as it is getting bigger I hardly think that this is the case. I have had this lump for a few months. I have low thyroid and I also have Reynaud's Syndrome. I am 65 years old. Can anyone help please ?

I don't think anyone here who hasn't actually seen the "hard lump" can diagnose any better than a Physician who has seen it and is familiar with your underlying medical problems.

Have you gone back and explained that the lump is getting bigger and more painful?
