showing a factor of a polynomial
    " Show that (x-2) is a factor of f(x)=x^3 -2x^2 -x + 2"

I think this is a question for synthetic division if so this is what I have got so far but to me it doesn't make sense

    2| 1 -2 -1 0
    |
    ___ 2__0_-2_
    ... 1 0 -1 -2

if that is the case then it should be like (x-2)(x^3 -x -2)

but that when multiplied gives an x^4 which I don't think should be there, any help or hints?

Note: sorry all I realised that I made the to a 0 instead when it should have stayed a 2, I understand it now thanks anyway
