    What is the effect of leading PF on Power Triangle?
    What is the effect of leading PF on Power Triangle? According to me! The power factor triangle will get inverted downside up and Real Power i.e. VI cosΦ will still remain same and only Apparent and Reactive Power will change... Please clarify!!

    I Newton

    VI cosΦ will change because cosΦ is the power factor.

    IF
    V = 415
    I = 10A
    cosΦ = .6

    Then Pwer = 2.49kW

    Now, change the cosΦ, or power factor to .8, and keep the current at 10Amps the power is now 3.32kW

    Now, change the cosΦ, or power factor to .8, and keep the power of the motor the same at 2.49kW then the current will reduce to 7.5Amps

    And yes, the power triangle gets inverted from downside up, if you change from an inductive load to a capacitive load.
