    Massachusetts code for bathroom vent
Can the bathroom vent connect the HVAC ductwork that provides our heat and AC?

    Hi Fox...

I will assume that you are asking about the bathroom fan unit... correct? No the bathroom fan/vent cannot connect into the HVAC ductwork for any reason.

A bathroom vent must penatrate the roof, the side wall of the house or can even be run over to the eaves and directed outside using an eaves kit (sold at all home supply stores).

    Hope that answered your question...

I think this is one of the things every Code agrees on - no matter what area you live in. As Mark says, no, it cannot connect into HVAC ductwork. If it did, than you would be sucking bathroom odors and moisture into the ductwork distributing bathroom it through out your house.
