The heater will not stay on more than a few seconds. The ignite r gets red hot, the furnace ignites and then the flames turn off/

Clean the flame sensor. You did not mention a brand but I think it is a Luxair or york unit.

Clean with steel wool or fine sand paper or emery/crocus cloth.
