That's what we call our first cousin.

You both share enough DNA as to cause genetic defects in your children.

The world is full of people that you are NOT kin to. Go find one of THESE people.

It's easy to get attached to people that you are around all the time, and look up to, but this is an incestuous affair, and should not proceed.

This degree of consanguinuity is dangerous. It is prohibited by most states/countries and most religious teachings. In a word, NO.

First, I really don't understand someone asking a legal question in a forum about relationships. So I moved this from the marriage forum.

Second, since laws vary by area, I can't understand someone asking a legal question without giving a general location.

So a general Google search found these sites.

State Laws Regarding Marriages Between First Cousins

Cousin Couples - Facts about cousin marriage

And finally here's the full search results if your want to check other sites:

In many parts of the US it may be yes and may be no, the laws very from state to state on this. So in the US you may have to merely go on a trip to a state that allows it, marry and then return to where you live, In other nations I do not know.

As for DNA from my reading, most of the newer studies show while there are slight increases of risk, the over risk is still slim ( not that I think you should )

I tried to consanguate my cousin once. She bopped me on the head.
