I have lichen scoliosis of the vagina and I scratched so hard that when I pee it hurts.
What can I use to calm down the irritated vagina so it does not hurt to pee. I used
Destiin cream to calm down the irritated skin but it is not helping this time.I also sit in the bath tub several times a day to help calm it down. Any other ideas that could help? Thanks

I am thinking that petroleum jelly(Vaseline) being that it is so thick and water proof would help to prevent the burning on urination.
I believe it is a safe product.
Perhaps our nurse on site J9 could clarify this.

What has your doctor said about this? Do you have medication for it? There is medication available.

Vaseline won't stop the itching. A corticosteriod would do this. Vaseline might cause more damage because it would keep the bacteria next to the irritated skin possibly causing infection.

The OP needs to see her doctor about this and be medically treated before this becomes severe and need surgery (rare but possible).

I just thought the vaseline might keep the urine from burning but didn't even think about it harboring the bacteria.Thanks for the info and Happy New year my friend!

It may keep the burning away, but still causing another problem. Unfortunately, this is not a condition that should be treated at home. It needs medical intervention.
