Error message for floppy disk drive
System and drive manager indicate fllopy disk drive is OK. On inserting floppy and double clicking theicon, the green comes on. An error message " please insert floppy in drive A" comes on. And thereafter it does not work. Floppy drive is replaced with the new, still the same problem exists. I have XP professional OS. Kindly help to resolve the issue.

Try updating your drivers, and check the physical connections of the drive.

There are no drivers for a floppy drive. Check the cabling on the floppy to make sure it is plugged in the correct way.

Does this happen with ALL floppies or just some? Have you tried formatting a blank floppy? Sometimes the heads of the drive get out of alignment over time so they can't read disks formatted on other machines.

What has this got to do with the original question?

Please start your own thread and give us more info like the model, what version of Windows, what processor and the exact message.
