I remember seeing a cartoon in the mid 80s, but only the last bit of it. Basically a boy is on a planet, possibly lost. Several people are looking for him. I recall they are on a space ship and have failed in their misson. The boy is accompanied by a small blue animal, a bit like a Llama. They enter a cave and the blue animal becomes entangled by vines that come down from the roof of the cave and possibly killed. The closing scene is of an old man in a hospital bed. There are lines going round outside, forming a square, and music that is quite sad. It all seems weird, but I am certain I'm right. Not sure about the plot, only what I saw. I think the cartoon was on the bbc twice in the mid eighties, but other than this I don't recall. Hope someone can help.
