    Penis - Scab-like infection
I'm in my teenage years and been noticing these scab-like things under the foreskin of my penis, not near the tip but deeper (noticeable when masturbating). I have removed some of them.
They are a brownish dark colour and appear like a scab, it doesn't hurt nor hurt when removing. There's quite abit of it and seems to be attached via stringy white hairs.

    Thanks for any advice
EDIT: I have not had sexual intercourse and by pulling the foreskin back further there is a smelly (quite bad) yellow version of this 'scab'.

    Hi Boxerdude,
Part of what may be occurring is accumulation of smegma, natural secretions designed to lubricate the glans (head) of the penis, allowing the foreskin to easily retract. Though the colors you describe, the very strong odor, and the scab-like consistency, are most definitely not normal. It is likely you have some sort of an infection, perhaps fungal (yeast) in origin.
I would suggest you make an appointment with a doctor and have it checked out. It is likely something that can be treated relatively easily.
    Take care.

Thank you for your quick and informative reply.
On another note - are there any steps I can take before taking this matter to the doctors. I do not feel 100% comfortable talking about this matter however if its necessary I will do so.
    Possibly any creams, washing etc.

    Thanks

    Hi Boxerdude,
You're welcome. If you knew for sure that it were a simple Candida (yeast) infection or such, depending on where you live, there are over-the-counter treatments (topical ointments). If you live in the US though, you would probably need a prescription for anything safe and effective.
Nothing to feel embarrassed about. All doctors have seen such things many times, and it is certainly not likely resultant of anything in particular. Often the causes of such infections are unknown.
Just try to keep the area clean. It is best to get a formal diagnosis.

Try and make an appointment with a male doctor. Remember he has a penis too. So he sees one every day, he could have even had this problem before himself.

To answer your question, I agree with Thomas. It is possible it could be a simple yeast infection. But to be sure you need to go to the doctor.
