I have a Goodman heater model #PGB030050-1 I turned on the thermostat to run (90)and the heater made a snapping noise as if the igniter was trying to spark (did not see a spark). The burners are not red or flamed. The igniter did not fire up the burner. When I feel that the unit is trying to purge shouldn’t I smell gas (I do not smell gas)? I noticed that when I turn on the main switch off and on, the unit turns on as written above and a red LED stays red then after an unsuccessful ignite, the LED blinks twice or three times in a succession. The unit turns off after attempting to ignite. Checked if gas was turned on main, it was. I had the internal gas control knob turned to on.

The fan motor does run when the thermostat is on fan. The fan motor run initially when the igniter is attempting to fire but shuts down on an unsuccessful ignite.

Please help the kids are cold!

Check to make sure vents outside are not frozen over.

The ignitor should glow prior to the ignition trial. If it does not, it may have failed (pics typical, yours may differ somewhat).
