I am straight, I live in Delhi, I want to marry a gay man
    Hi,
I am a 28 year old female, I am straight but I want o marry a gay Delhi-based man. I am highly spiritual and want to share a platonic relationship with my life partner. Any one with a heterosexual orientation would not understand me.
    Can you help?

What does platonic mean to you?

Why do you want to avoid a sexual relationship?

Are you prepared to accept his having affairs with men?

What will happen if you fall in love with a straight man after you marry the gay man?

What does being "highly spiritual" have to do with any of this?

    You have issues.

Why would you want to marry a gay man if you're straight. More importantly, why would a gay man want to marry you?

Why do you think no heterosexual would understand you?

Do you have a particular gay man in mind, or is it just hypothetical?

You might try gay dating sites on the internet, or maybe vist a few gay bars, advertise in the paper. You may find a gay man who hides his sexual orientation who is under a lot of pressure to marry, in which case, both of you would be compatible.

If it's going to be a marriage contract of sorts, you may wish to consider a pre-nup before you marry.

While I am super curious as to why you would want this type of marriage, I'll presume you have your reasons for wanting to remain celibate.

In your religion, is it not a "sin" to have sex with another man? I mean, are you prepared to live with someone who is practicing something that may be against your very own religious convictions?

You are right when you say that I "would not understand", because I do not.

Do you not want to have children one day?

It could be family pressure, on both sides. Could be simply convenience for tax purposes, or might be a combined income will buy or finance a house, or car.

Just to note, while the question is very interesting from the OP, she does not state she is 'religious', she states she is 'spiritual', which, in my opinion, are two different things.

But she hasn't explained what THAT means as regards her wanting to marry a gay man. (A particular gay man, or just any man who happens to be gay?)

In fact, there are a whole bunch of things she hasn't explained. Maybe she will return to this board tonight (her tomorrow) and help us understand.

Sometimes they are yes, Jake. But this answer is baffling to me.

Well, without knowing fully what motivates the poster to marry a gay man, any reason is possible.

If it isn't for religious reasons, maybe it is for practical reasons, who knows.

I hope she comes back with more info.
