Check the fluid and refill as needed.
You need to get the diagnostic trouble code that turned on the check engine light.
I wouldn't drive the car again until you learn more about what's wrong.
    You could cause more problems.

2002 accent problems check light is on and transmission in limp mode and no reverse
The engine check light is on and transmission in limp mode plus no reverse in transmission and I was going down the freeway when the car went into limp mode.

Please take your car to a mechanic for this problem. It will only get worse and the engine and transmission may be damaged beyond fixing and have to be totally replaced.

And what is "limp mode" may I ask? Do you mean "neutral"?

Was the light on prior to the transmission not shifting? When did you lose reverse?

You need to have the computer scanned ASAP to find out what's going on.

Valley, you need to get this car to someone locally so they can diagnose it.
Do you have someone who does your maintenance or repairs?

FYI: "Limp mode" as it's sometimes called allows the Engine Control Module to substitute some of the sensors values when one or more of those critical sensors have gone bye-bye.
Not all sensor failures on all vehicles allow for limp mode, and it is only intended to get you off the road.
