Our tub will not stop running. My wife just set a bath and cut both faucettes off and a small stream continues to pour out. Any suggestions?

Oh, I've drained the tub now and tried cutting both faucettes all the way on and off, same result.

Determine whether it is the hot or the cold water and then shut off the water to the house and disassemble the hot or cold handle and the stem assembly. Once the stem assembly is removed you should find a washer with a piece missing (or something like that).

Take the washer down to a local hardware store and see what they can do to replace it. Worst case, you may want to replace the entire stem assembly unit.
