How much does your puppy weigh? What kind of chocolate? Milk? Dark?

It usually takes quite a bit of chocolate to be fatal for a dog. It takes about 100-200mg of Theobromine (the toxic ingredient in chocolate) to be deadly. How much theobromine in the chocolate varies between types.

The range is from about 800mg per ounce in cocoa powder, to 40-60ish mg per ounce in milk chocolate.

He'll probably be sick, but I doubt he'll die.

Keep an eye on him, if you notice that he's very ill then take him to the vet immediately.

In the future, keep cookies away from your dog. They can and will get into everything, it's your responsibility to make sure he can't.

If they are like Oreos, then your dog should be fine. That's not much "real" chocolate.

I'm a little late on this one but he should be OK.
Some dogs have bad reactions to chocolate, others have no reaction at all.

I have seen dogs eat a tiny amount and be very very sick but I have seen others eat whole easter eggs (oops on my mothers part) and be completely fine.

Just watch out for vomiting, excessive drooling, lethargy and restlessness.
