There is siganl to the monitor. You see the name of the computer, the OS, etc. When it is to the sign in page the screen is blank.

Try starting in Safe Mode.
Uninstall your graphics card drivers, reboot and reinstall the drivers. If in safe mode it also gives a black screen then your Windows might be corrupt. Repairing the windows will solve this.

"Before the windows logo apears on startup keep pressing the F8 key to get your boot options..

Mabe the resolution is out of the monitor's range for some reason..
