Kenmore Elite He4 dryer controls problem
about a year ago I purchased a Kenmore Elite HE 4 dryer about a month ago the touchpad controls were not respoding after several hours latr=er it sarted working again. I thought something neededto be reset but it has happened again. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is and how to fix it. Is this product defective?

    Thanks

Normally, if the touch pad isn't working, then the touch pad itself is faulty. However it could also be a bad control board.

If it has its own mebrane keypad (buttons are separate from the board) then you can try replacing that first as it will be the cheapest.

Check on the cost of these items. If they are reasonably priced, then it might be worth it to swap them out. If they are rather expensive (as control boards tend to be), then personally I would try to troubleshoot the problem before throwing parts at it.

I too have an elite He4 Dryer and my controls are not responding. I noticed that there are three or four faint lights glowing but nothing is really lite up or works. I took the unit apart, there are two control panels, both of which don't work, and a controller board (one chip). Could not find any obvious failure points. I am thinking that because both controller boards are not working and they are wired separately that it is the controller board.

I did not see any other items that could cause the failure. (the dryer light is on so it has good power)
