I had a prog. Therm. Installed by a licensed air co.; model 44360

There are 6 wires coming from the walls
Green, red, orange, white, yellow, and blue

Current connections:
Green wire ----> G
No wire but a jumper from RH to RC
Red wire ------> RH
Ornage wire -----> Y/O
White wire ----> W/B
Yellow wire ----> Y1
Blue wire ---> not connected

They came and installed these units in the summer. The air conditioning comes on and off according to requested home temperature no problem. The air conditioning adjusts with the times (cycles) as we programmed in.

PROBLEM - now with some cooler weather, the heat goes on and stays on. It stays on even after it hits the programmed temperature.

I called hunter and they indicated that the blue wire is "odd" and that thise 44360 model hunter there. Will not work. I am naturally apprehensive with the feedback from someone reading off a script.

Is there anyone out there that knows these things and can help...

I've purchased a honeywell there. But thought I'd check to see if the current hunter model 44360 was wired incorrectly (I do have the instructions but they are pretty poor)

I've called service request air. Several times with no answer and they are not returning calls. I thought I could at least talk to a tech. as they should have indicated that the therm. Was the wrong one instead of installing this one.

While the system is running and is supposed to be off according to the temperature inside, disconnect the W wire and wait to see if the system turns off.

Sounds like it was wired correctly.

I'm going to get on my sandbox again!! Hunter, Noma, And several other big box store thermostats should stay on the shelf. I'm always charging people allot of money to install or replace these things.

I don't understand why a contractor would install a Hunter stat, he prob' charged you a pretty penny for it too.

Well, it finally cooled down enough to have the heat kick in and removing the white wire seems to have done the trick. Thanks for the quick response and more importantly, for the honest advise and answer. I will follow up with the company that installed this thing and advise them it was incorrectly installed / wired. Again, thanks!
