I have a 5 year old Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard 4 dishwasher. During a run cycle, I heard a click and went to investigate. The entire control panel is dead, as in no lights anywhere. All wash arms spin freely. No idea where the power comes from so I decided to disconnect power wires to see if it would reset. Upon removing the electrical connection cover, I found the white wire connection charred (yellow twist connector). I will pull the unit out tomorrow to see if I see anything else and try to reset the motor if it has one. What could have caused the wires to fry?

A loose or poor connection can cause over heating at the connection point. Turn power off at breaker panel. Remake connection.
There will not be a reset at the motor at the motor, it is only a water pump motor.

Thanks hk. This morning I cut back the burnt wires and reconnected them. Cycle picked up where it left off when I pushed "start". Maybe the wire connector loosened up over time. Who knows. All seems good now. Thanks again for the quick response.
