My boyfriend got picked up for absconding parole. No new charges. First time violation. His max out date is oct 2010. violation in Georgia and the jail where he is is overcrowded. How long do you think he will get? How long will the process take? What is his chances?

His time stopped while he was gone, so his max date has been moved. He can be made to serve ALL of what's left. They're certainly not in a hurry, because they're going to keep him for a while. How long? Who knows? Do they care that it's overcrowded? Nope.

Yes, parole is a lot different than probation, they don't play around, so his parole time as noted stopped when he stopped reporting, He can expect to in GA, to go to start with to a probation / parole center, GA has several where they will hold people pending going back into prison, or even until their case is heard.

He will most likely be leaving the jail for a prison
